A leading expert in lipidomics. She is the co-founder and scientific director of Lipinutragen Srl. She has published numerous scientific papers, three books, and holds three patents. She has received numerous awards, including recognition as Italy’s top female innovator and a woman of talent. She is a highly regarded public speaker and television personality, particularly on the importance of nutrition and fats.
On Sunday, April 7, 2024, Dr. Carla Ferreri will be in the Brescia area to present the results of new research on living a long and healthy life. She will speak with Dr. Loretta Novelli and Dr. Sandra Bogetti, specialists and representatives of the CNR Fat Profile program in Bologna. Contrary to popular belief, fats are essential for good physical and mental health: we cannot live without fats because all our cells are enveloped by a “layer of fats” that forms what is known as the CELL MEMBRANE.
The fats present in the body must be balanced among three different families: monounsaturated, polyunsaturated, and saturated. Drastically reducing fats or consuming them in incorrect amounts creates a state of profound imbalance, known as silent inflammation, and cells may slow down their formation and necessary turnover.
With this in mind, the conversation about fats becomes interesting, even for everyday life, because it relates to our grocery shopping and diet. Crucial questions are: Am I consuming all the essential nutrients in the right proportions and balance? Is my grocery shopping “smart”? If I exclude certain foods, am I creating an imbalance? Could the symptoms I’m experiencing stem from a deficiency? Today, when it comes to fats, we can learn everything through red blood cell membrane lipidomic analysis, which serves as a direct and reliable tool for assessing health status. At Lipinutragen Srl, we perform the FAT PROFILE analysis using equipment that is unique in the world.
